This started out as a private blog that was helping me document this process, but when a friend of mine said about making it public so people could see the progress, I thought I’d give it a try. I’m amazed at how many views and responses I’m getting everyday, and the support has been such a great motivator!

My name is Amy, and I had my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy on 9/23/13.  I’ve been dieting since I was 8-years-old, but I’ve had body image problems as early as 3-year-old. Over three-decades of trying to fit (literally and figuratively) in a world that wasn’t made for me and doesn’t want anything to do with me. I’ve also spent a decade working in the media, and they sure as HELL don’t want fat chicks anywhere near microphones or cameras. It’s been a rough road, that’s for sure. It seems like no matter what I do, I will forever and always be…. Measured by Measurements.
